Explore Resurrection Bay On An Alaska Sea Kayak Tour!

February 17th, 2017 by Corey A. Edwards

Enjoy an Alaska Sea Kayak TourGoing on a guided Alaska sea kayak tour is the experience of a lifetime. A saltwater paddle puts you at eye level with the marine world – a whole new perspective on Alaskan wildlife!

When you climb into a sea kayak, you’re getting that much closer to the water and to the unspoiled world you traveled so far to see. Even if you’ve never touched a paddle before, you’ll find the experience smooth and soothing. Kayaks slice quietly through the waves, leaving you able to approach more closely to marine life without disturbing them.

The sea kayak tour offered by Alaska Adventure Unlimited is an optional exploration of Resurrection Bay. Depending on the time of year you go, you may have the opportunity to see lots of wildlife, including otters, eagles, salmon, sea lions, maybe even bears!

If you choose to go on the Ressurection Bay kayak tour, you will be met at your Seward hotel before heading out to Lowell Point Recreation area just south of Seward. Here your guide will go over sea kayaking basics with you.

Your tour will start at Lowell Point on Resurrection Bay and go to Tonsina Creek, hugging the shore shallows. The tour may also include an extension to Bridal Veil Beach, time and weather depending. Throughout the tour, your guide will entertain you with fascinating information about the area, wildlife, and kayaking. Your tour guide will also make sure you’re being safe and having a good time.

Should your tour include Bridal Veil Beach, here you’ll beach to stretch your legs for a bit. This is a great opportunity have a snack as well as do some exploring. Your guide will be direct you to points of interest, such as the nearby stream used by salmon to spawn. After the break, you’ll paddle back to your starting point.

Ressurection Bay Sea Kayak Tour

The typical sea kayak tour is just a half-day, making this a great option if you’re looking for a multi-adventure day. Due to weather and other circumstances, it’s possible that the tour location details may change.
